why sponsor the arts?

corporate australia puts $282 million per year into sports and $29 million into the arts, yet the arts & culture are 2.2% of our economy while sports, gambling & recreation are 1.1%

where will your message carry most weight?

it is good for your community

sponsoring associates your name with a prestigious event, and puts your message in front of the people you want to reach

it is good for the economy

according to the Government, the arts and cultural industries generate twice as much to the state's economy as sport, gambling and recreational services, employing over 12,500 people in WA

encouraging the arts helps your marketplace thrive

it is tax deductible

arts sponsorship for promotional purposes is fully tax deductible as Advertising and Promotion.

arts philanthropy - donations to approved cultural organisations without promotional return - is fully deductible

the Register of Cultural Organisations allows tax deductibility of donations to non-profit organisations

it is good for your community

when a local community sees world-class events taking place on its doorstep, it feels good about itself. When local people take part, they bring their sense of pride back to their homes and their workplaces. This adds up to a society which remains a good place to live; where crime is lower, business is more optimistic, and the community moves forward

encouraging the arts locally improves the community in which you do business

promote your business by association

the rewards of sponsorship can include:

:: prestige reserved seating for your staff and clients

:: pre- or post-performance receptions with the artists

:: nomination for the State Arts Sponsorship Awards

:: your name and message displayed on tickets, programmes and at the venues

:: extra intangible benefits such as networking with other sponsoring organisations, and being seen as a good corporate citizen

become a philanthropist!

Your gifts of money or property are fully tax-deductible

Donations to cultural organisations without promotional return are fully deductible through the Register of Cultural Organisations. This allows tax deductibility of donations of money (and property acquired within 12 months of donation) to registered non-profit organisations. The deductibility provisions are contained in Subdivision 30-F of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997

The intangible benefits - networking, good citizenship, and prestige by association - are delivered to philanthropists as much as sponsors.

nb:: jambird is yet to be registered as an official cultural organisation, but is able to receive your tax deductible donation via new provisions. see AbaF
