1.

Baroqoda was commissioned by the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts for their 25th anniversary in 2005.

Baroqoda explores western theatrical practices of the 17th and the 21st centuries using the technology, notation and design practices available in these periods, resulting in an original work that incorporates the disciplines of dance, music and scenic design and through the intermeshed media there is a conversation between the old and the new. This engagement with the past is of particular significance since the 17th century court of Louis XIV is perceived as the disciplinary birthplace of the western disciplines of music and dance.

Researcher, Dr Maggi Phillips also produced a reflexive written text on the processes and the production from these two disciplinary perspectives, over-writing the choreography and score with the arguably soundless and motionless ‘notation’ of words or resonating the sound and movement through other environments. see "Recycling patterns of text, music and dance in Baroqoda". Brolga . Issue #25 December 2006.
